William Joseph "Joe" Tobias

William Joseph “Joe” Tobias, 82, of Eaton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on December 21, 1942 in Eaton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Woodrow W. “Woody” Tobias & Glenna Mae (Hurd) Tobias Spencer.

In 1978, Joe began his entrepreneurship of Tobias Electric and served Preble County and surrounding communities for almost 50 years. Joe proved himself as a self-taught expert in the intricacies of grain dryers. He was a 1960 Eaton High School graduate, member of the Chamber of Commerce and Honorary Lifetime Member of the Preble County Pork Festival.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Brothers: Donald W. Tobias in 1959 and Albert “Lee” Tobias in 2008.

Survived by the love of his life for 62 years: Shirley J. (Mason) Tobias; Daughter: Missy (Mike) Imhoff; Son: Joey (Trisha) Tobias; Grandchilden: Tyler Gallaher, Jake Fisher Tobias, Emma (Tobias) and Bryson Padgett; Numerous family members and a host of friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio. Inurnment will be held privately in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
