Walter L. Creech

Walter L. " Ozzie" Creech, age 66, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died, Monday, January 8, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Born on May 20, 1940 in Preble County, Lanier Township, OH he was the son of the late Ernest B. & Nellie I. (Phenis) Creech and was a 1958 Gratis High School graduate. Ozzie retired in 2000 after 30 years of service from the State of Ohio as a Drivers License Examiner. He was a member of the Lewisburg Fire Department for over 25 years, serving as the Fire Chief from 1984 to 1986. Volunteer for the Twin Creek Christmas Committee, Lewisburg Historical Society, Boy Scout Leader in Lewisburg and American Red Cross serving 3 years in disasters in Florida, Mississippi, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Indiana.

Preceded in death by daughter: Simone Hobbs in 2006; sister: Helen Ann McClain in 1978.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years: Linda L. (Bratton) Creech; sons & daughters-in-law: Randy & Paula Creech of Lewisburg, OH. and Paul & Shari Creech of Wilmington, OH. brother: Robert C. Creech of West Alexandria, OH; sisters: Vera Irene AVic@ Creech of Gratis, OH and Mary E. APug@ Weadick of Eaton, OH. 5 Grandchildren: Ryan E. Creech, Brady D. Creech, Mallory Leann Creech, Shelly M. Hobbs and Sophia L. Hobbs. Nieces and Nephews; Special friend Carol Gebhart.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, January, 11, 2007 at Lewisburg United Methodist Church - U.S. Route 40 East - Lewisburg, OH with Rev. Michael Pratt officiating.Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, OH. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home - 411 North Commerce Street - Lewisburg, Ohio and one hour prior to the service at the church.
