Vernita M. Pemberton

Vernita Marie Pemberton, 80 of Eaton, Ohio, died Monday, May 5, 2025, at her residence. She was born on July 6, 1944, in Sarasota, Florida, daughter of the late Austin and Beatrice Marie (Ruark) Williford. Vernita attended Sarasota High School and was a Dayton Bible College graduate. A Preble County resident for over 50 years, Vernita was a co-founder of The Once Around Shop in Eaton, worked at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton for many years and retired from Lutheran Social Services in Eaton. She was a member of Life Flowing Ministries in Eaton and loved teaching Hebrew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Foster.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gary Eugene Pemberton, Sr., her son, Gary Eugene Pemberton, Jr. and her brother and sister-in-law, Henry (Cheryl) Williford; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Jim Webb officiating.
