Therese M. Betar

Therese M. Betar, 61, of Eaton, OH, went home to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, October 10, 2023, with her husband and children by her side. She was born on November 6, 1961, in Syracuse, New York, daughter of the late Donald Walter and Helene G. (Green) May. She was a graduate of Central Square High School in New York and Liberty University in Virginia where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Christian counseling. Therese moved to Eaton in 2012 with her husband Jim. She was a Specialist with Montgomery County Job and Family Services and worked for many years at Silfex, Inc. in Eaton where she was the front desk coordinator. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Therese loved music, cooking, interior decorating and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Eaton Community Church and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Therese was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher F. May in September of 2023. 

Survived by her husband of 17 years, James R. Betar; sons and daughters-in-law, Will (Missy) Bleich, Ian Jones and Timothy (Alexis) Betar; daughter, Rebekah Betar; siblings, Michael W. (Jacquelyn) May, Andrew J. (Cynthia) May, Gretchen May, and Peter B. May; sister-in-law, Maureen May; grandsons, Carson and Wesley Bleich and Brewer Betar; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the The Eaton Community Church, 813 Camden Rd, Eaton, Ohio with Dr. Dan Denlinger officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
