Susan K. Grow

Susan K Grow, age 77 of North Kingstown, Rhode Island and formerly of Eldorado, Ohio died Sunday, February 4, 2024, at her residence. Born on July 17, 1946, in Richmond Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Martha (Crawford) Kimmel.  She was a devoted wife and mother of her two children.  An alumna of Monroe High School in Preble County, Ohio, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Virginia State College in 1984.  Susan held various positions in accounting, culminating as Financial Controller for Lykins Oil Companies in Milford, Ohio.  In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and served as Treasurer of their retirement community in Ladson, South Carolina.  She especially enjoyed travel to England, Ireland, Thailand, Alaska, and many cruises throughout the Caribbean.  In Thailand, she was both thrilled and surprised when a baby elephant wrapped her trunk around Sue’s shoulders and gave her a hug.  

Preceded in death by brother, Richard Kimmel and nephew, Keith Kimmel.  

Survived by her husband of 58 years, James Grow of North Kingstown RI; son and daughter-in-law, Doug & Kerrie Grow of North Kingstown, RI; daughter and son-in-law, Cristine & Chad Watson of South Charleston, WV; sister-in-law, Carol Wright of Gurnee Illinois; nephew, Stephen Kimmel of Gurnee, Illinois; grandchildren, Jeremy Watson, Amanda Watson, and Jessica Grow.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton Ohio 45320. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Interment Service at Monroe Cemetery near Eldorado, Ohio.
