Shirley Ann Knox

Shirley Ann (Wiegand) Knox, age 89, of New Paris, Ohio, surrounded by her loving daughters and family, was escorted to Heaven by her Savior, Jesus Christ, February 3, 2024.  A lifetime resident of New Paris, Ohio, she was born on November 20, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late, George & Irene M. (Sigmond) Wiegand.  

 Shirley was a devoted wife and mother.  Her lifelong calling was to care for others, and she did so very lovingly.  She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, baking, and making others feel welcome.   She worked side by side with her husband to change the New Paris landscape over the years by building or helping to build over six homes.

 Preceded by her husband of 67 years, Robert C. Knox in 2018; daughter, Cathy Alexander in 2023; grandson, Mark Eason in 2019; son-in-law, Dave Eason in 2017; siblings, Donald Cline, John Cline, Dallas Cline, James Wiegand, Carolyn Stonecash; brother-in-law, Bill Hamilton; many other relatives. 

Survived by her three daughters, Susan Eason, Deborah Harris, and Jayne Knox; son-in-law, Roger Alexander; siblings, Butch Wiegand, Marilyn Hamilton, Judy Cox, and Tom (Judy) Wiegand; brother-in-law, Tom Stonecash; grandchildren, Kari (Jeremy) Reynolds, Michelle Alexander, John (Theresa) Eason, Robert (Kathi) Booher, Chessley Yearwood; 14 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; family friend, Claudia Toschlog; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio.  
 
A Celebration of a Life Well Lived will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Pastor Josh Holdeman.  Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
