Richard W. Green

Richard W. Green, 74 of Verona, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on November 9, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Herbert L. & Goldie M. (Phillips) Green.

Richard worked for the Preble County Engineers office for 30 plus years. He was a 1969 Twin Valley North High School graduate and Hobart School of Welding, loved cooking, gardening, auctions, shooting, and mushroom hunting. He was known for helping repair lawnmowers and cars.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Brother-in-law: Carl Porter; Nephew: Richard Wesley Green; Great Nephew: Ty Wesley Green; Sister-in-law: Florence Swanger; Grandparents: Ted & Geneva Richards.

Survived by his Daughters: Lori M. (Marty Tharp) Parker, and Kathy L. (Troy) Ferguson; Bonus Daughter: Angie Kimball; Siblings: Glenna Porter, Peggy (Bill) Stout, and Herb Green, Jr.; Former Spouse: Christy (Barnhiser) Green; Grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Kyle, Kya, Harper, Randy and Sammy; Niece and Nephews: Diana, Doug, Dino, and Tim and a host of friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Ohio with Chaplain Duane L. Davis officiating. Interment will be held in Arlington Cemetery, Brookville, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
