Reteelia C. Owens

RETELLIA C. OWENS age 100, of Batavia, Ohio and formerly of New Paris, OH, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at East Gate Health Care Center in Cincinnati, OH. Born on May 12, 1909 in La Follette, TN, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Nanny (Seaton) Cooper. Retellia loved children and taught elementary school for 35 years in Tennessee and Ohio. She moved from New Paris to Batavia in 1967. Preceded in death by husband: Robert J. Owens in 1967, son: Robert C. Owens.

Survived by son & daughter-in-law: James L. (Edna) Owens, Batavia, OH; grandchildren: Sherry Pyles, James E., Robert D., and Brittany R. Owens, 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 - 1:00 p.m. at the Maham Funeral Home, Williamsburg, Ohio. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, OH. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Local arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home - New Paris, OH.
