Phyllis C. White

Phyllis C. White, age 85 of Eaton (Lakengren), Ohio passed on Saturday evening, January 17, 2026, at her residence. Born on June 10, 1940, in Middletown, Butler County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late George A. & Ollie J. (Lewis) Cox

Phyllis was a 1958 Middletown High School graduate, 1964 graduate of The Ohio State University and received her Master’s in 1980 at Miami University. She retired in 1995 after 32 years as a teacher at Preble Shawnee Elementary Schools.

Member of the Preble County Library Board, Preble County Retired Teachers Association, Lakengren Women’s Club, Lakengren Garden Club, Delta Kappa Gamma of Preble County, Ohio Educator’s Association and National Educator’s Association.

Preceded in death by her 1st Husband: Ivan Lawson in 1999; 2nd Husband: John K. White in 2015

Survivors: Son: Robert A. Lawson of Eaton, OH.; Daughter & Son-In-Law: Marci A. Lawson & John Skrzypczak of Burke, Virginia; Grandchildren: Luke Lawson Skrzypczak, Alexandra Lawson and Emily Lawson Mahoney; Brother: Douglas Cox of Florida; Sister: Shirley Cole of Middletown, Ohio.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Barnes Funeral Home – 220 East Main Street – Eaton, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery – Camden, Ohio.
