NELLIE RUTH ARNETT, age 95 of New Paris, Ohio, died Monday, September 11, 2006 in Greenfield, Indiana. Born on January 23, 1911 in Tucker County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus & Olive (Harsh) Upton. A resident of New Paris since 1933, she was a 65 year member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris. She was an active member of the 3L club for senior citizens in New Paris and did volunteer work at Reid Hospital in Richmond for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband: Lester R. Arnett in 1982; daughter: Ruth Lavone Arnett in 1942; sons: Myron Arnett in 1999, Duane Arnett in 2002 and infant son in 1929; granddaughters: Rebecca Elaine Arthur in 1956 and Vicky Lavonne Arnett in 1957; sister: Mary Frances Upton and brother: Samuel Upton.

She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law: Robert & Barbara Arnett and Jim & Leatrice Arnett both of New Paris; daughters & son-in-law: Janet & Stanley Arthur of New Paris and Janice Miller of Greenfield, Indiana; sister: Belva Teaford of Greenville, Ohio. 21 Grandchildren and spouses; 37 great grandchildren and spouses and 30 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church - 301 East Main St.- New Paris, Ohio 45347 with Rev. LaDonna Clary officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Northwest Emergency Squad- 135 N. Washington St. New Paris, Ohio 45347 or to the St. Paul United Methodist Church- 301 East Main St.-New Paris, Ohio 45347.
