Lois I. Brown

Lois I. Brown, 100, of Eaton, Ohio passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. Born on June 24, 1925 in Philadelphia, Missouri, a daughter to Marion and Allie (Lewis) Elwood. She was one of seven children, three brothers and three sisters, all who preceded her in death.

During World War II, she worked at the Rock Island arsenal where she met Earl E. Brown of Morrison, Illinois. They were married October 29, 1943 in Palmyra, Missouri. Earl preceded her in death on October 5, 2010. She worked for a division of Furnas Electric of Batavia, Illinois for 29 years and did volunteer work for food pantries in Iowa and Illinois. She also tutored elementary school children. A Past Matron and Life Member of Order of Eastern Star in Illinois, she loved writing poetry where she wrote over 100 poems, member of the Eaton Methodist Church and a member of the Alpha Garden Club in Eaton. She lived in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri and later moved to Ohio to be near her daughter.

She had two children: Carole (Steve) Toothman, Stephen E. Brown who passed in 2019, Daughter-in-law: Carolyn Brown; Grandchildren: Jennifer Solberg, Catherine (Andrew) Petersen and Kurt Paschal: Great Grandchildren: Ava and Evan Solberg, Margaret and Francis Peterson.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be held in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. Arrangements Entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, Lewisburg, Ohio.
