Leon Henry Roberts

LEON HENRY ROBERTS, age 66, of Camden, OH died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born on January 17, 1945 in Lenoir City, TN. He was raised by his uncle Richard M. Tinell who raised him like a son. Leon had worked for Universal Homes in Camden, City of Eaton, Boston Grain and Huffy in Richmond, IN. He was a Little League coach and played and coached men's softball.

Preceded in death by his mother: Mary Elizabeth (Tinell) Roberts; sisters: Faye Taulbee, Peggy Cornett and Betty Lou Roberts; brothers: Junior, Herman Lee, Billy Ray and Marvin Roberts.

Survived by his wife of 46 years: Susan Y. (Jerdon) Roberts; sons & daughters-in-law: Leon E. (Tanya) Roberts, Barry L. (Sara Eschenbrenner) Roberts, Rodney A. (Tina) Roberts; daughter & son-in-law: Beverly S. (David) Shope, all of Camden, OH; sisters: Hazel (Paul) Eads, Trenton, OH, Diana (James) Robinson, Franklin, OH; brothers: Johnny Ray Roberts, TN, James (Patty) Roberts, NC. Grandchildren: Leon Caleb Roberts, Courtney Roberts, Andrew Schmidt, Ashley Schmidt, Waylon Shope, Denver Ty Roberts, Blane Roberts, Payton Roberts, Faith Roberts, Miaya Roberts, Tayah Roberts, Nolan Roberts, Rylan Roberts, Hayden Roberts, Layla Roberts, Kyler Roberts and Ripken Roberts. Step Grandchildren: Hunter Eschenbrenner, Ricky Swearingen and Owen Clark. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Higher Heights Church of God, 8111 U.S. Rt. 127, Camden, OH with Rev. Marvin Hocker, Rev. Larry Davidson and Paul Eads officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the church and one hour prior to service at the church.
