Keith T. Rookstool

KEITH T. "Rocky" ROOKSTOOL, 89, of Kettering, Ohio and formerly of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Kettering Medical Center. Keith was born in Lewisburg on July 10, 1921, son of the late Russell and Anna (Tucker) Rookstool. A 1939 graduate of Lewisburg-Union High School and retired in 1987 from the Apex Machine & Tool Co. in Dayton, Ohio following 39 years of service. Keith was a W.W. II U.S. Army veteran and member of the Masonic Lodge in Farmersville, Ohio. He was an avid golfer and a former member of the Walnut Grove Country Club in Dayton. In addition to Kettering and Lewisburg, Keith also lived in Bradenton, Florida for 10 years.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son: Keith Russell Rookstool; great grandson: Alex Hawkins; sisters: Juanita Schlotterbeck and Janet Longnecker.

Keith is survived by his dear friend: Vanessa Walker of Dayton, Ohio; daughter: Linda (John) Gustin of Peru, Indiana; sister: Marcella Paxson of Gratis, Ohio; Aunt: Ruth Leiber, Winter Park, FL; four granddaughters including special granddaughter: Sarah Eaton and two great granddaughters; nieces and nephews and son Kevin.

Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Private inurnment with military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. Family will receive friends one prior to service.
