John P. Ross

John P. Ross, 72 of Eaton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at The Springs of Richmond. Born on January 24, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ival and Mary (Harvey) Ross.

John retired after 44 years at Henny Penny in Eaton. He was a 1972 Eaton High School graduate, member of the Eaton United Church of Christ and served as a Special Deputy with the Preble County Sheriff office. He loved farming, basketball and baseball.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Wife: Laurie Suzanne "Sue" Ross in 2025; Brother: William E. Ross; Sister: Betty C. McClure.

Survived by his Daughters: Jenna M. (Jeremy) Koontz; Kara E. (Jakob) Landis; Mother-In-Law: Doris R. (Davis) Cail; Grandsons: Noah and Ezra Landis; Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Interment will be held in New Westville Cemetery in Jackson Township, Preble County, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
