Jeanne M. King

Jeanne M. (Berry) King, age 89 of New Paris, Ohio, died, Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Greenbriar Care Community in Eaton. She was born on March 14, 1937, in Richmond, Indiana, daughter of the late Howard Eugene and Hazel Ferne (Willett) Berry.

Jeanne attended Jefferson Schools until her family moved to Florida, where she graduated in 1955 from Pompano Beach High School. Over the years she built a full life as a wife, mother, and homemaker, working in various industries and providing for her family with steady hands and a generous heart. She was a very intentional person in everything she pursued and accomplished, whether it was a simple conversation she was having, creating a home for her family filled with love and beauty or time spent creating memories with a fellow classmate and his wife planning and hosting their 50th class reunion. Jeanne enjoyed being actively included in the lives of her friends, children, grand and great grandchildren's lives alike. Jeanne put great care into never missing a holiday or birthday card, a call, or even a great conversation with a lifelong friend. She enjoyed trips to Michigan with her husband to hunt mushrooms, birdwatching, antiquing, making her home a more beautiful place through avid gardening and taking Sunday drives to Oxford, Ohio, to worship with her friends at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Lowell Dean King in 2000; her daughter, Gayle L. Miller in 2009; grandsons, Jesse Paul Hayes in 1989 and William Dean Jordan in 2021.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tom Jordan; her brother Dudley Berry; grandchildren, Gabriel Jordan, Justin Jordan, Tim (Heather) Jordan, Rebecca Jordan, Elizabeth (Tyler) Jordan-Blair, and Jessie Hayes; numerous great grandchildren, a nephew, aunts and cousins.

The Family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to her “bestie” and entire the staff of Greenbriar Nursing Center for their excellent and compassionate care.
