James “Jim” F. Fourman, age 71 of New Paris, Ohio died Friday, May 30, 2025, at his residence. Born June 19, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana, he was the son of the late John F. & Violet (Williams) Fourman. He graduated in 1972 from Richmond High School. He retired in 2013 from Belden after 42 years. He completed the Millwright courses from ICS – Intext Training Program, was a multi-skilled mechanic and completed the Belden’s Training Program from Ivy Tech State College. He held a Certification of Welder from Hobart Institute of Welding.
Active in three bowling leagues in Wayne County including the Belden Men’s League. He was a past Wayne County Youth Bowling Coach, Instructor and league Secretary. He helped organize State Bowling Tournaments and raise funds for St. Jude’s. He was the past President of the Wayne County Bowling Association and proud member of the Wayne County Bowling Hall of Fame. He had been an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and went to his first game at age five. He never missed a Reds game on TV. He coached baseball and softball at New Paris and Campbellstown, enjoyed backpacking, hiking, and he loved fishing on Lake Erie.
Preceded in death by Sister: Cynthia Chapman in 2018 and Brother-In-Law: Mike Brown in 2020.
He was the most loving and caring husband to his wife of 50 Years: Marilee (Brown) Fourman. He loved his family dearly. He supported, encouraged, and was very proud of each family member. Children: Amber & Joe Dooley of Mason, Ohio; Jeff & Jess Fourman of Dayton, Ohio and Lisa & Nick McGlothlin of Arcanum, Ohio. Grandchildren: Jocelyn & Nathan Shackleford, Desiree Downing, Max Downing, Blythe Fourman, Liv Fourman, Etta Fourman, Alex McGlothlin, Leo McGlothlin, and Mia Dooley. Great Grandchildren: Harley Shackleford and Wesley Shackleford. Sisters: Lynette (Fourman) Bumbalough of Richmond, Indiana, Judy (Fourman) & Dan Ringley of Richmond, Indiana, and Sylvia (Fourman) & Phil Van Tyle of Fountain City, Indiana; Brother: David (Anna) Fourman of Richmond, Indiana. Brother-In-Law: Tim (Connie) Brown of Brownstown, Indiana and Sister-In-Law Pam Brown of Arcanum, Ohio, close Cousin: Rick (Cathy) Williams of Fairborn, Ohio, Nieces, Nephews, and great nephews and nieces.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Home – 109 West Main Street – New Paris, Ohio. The Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Tim Brown officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery – New Paris, Ohio. Condolences via www.barnesfuneralhome.com
