Inge L. Smyer

Inge Lotte Smyer, age 86 of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton. Born on July 3, 1937 in Stuttgart, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Ernst Ludwig & Margarete (Leun) Krämer. She retired in 1988 after 17 years at Baxter in Eaton. Inge loved her children, but she also had a love for many cats and dogs they had over the years. She worked a couple of different jobs as her children approached teen years at Lewisburg Container. She had several interests and hobbies over the years, and she enjoyed sewing clothing and items needed around the house, crafting and painting woodwork. She also had a love for oil paintings and had several of her own paintings hung in her home. She had a green thumb for her beautiful flower gardens, and was very talented at taking photos of landscapes, flowers, and animals. She had a passion for line dancing and going to the Preble County YMCA daily.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband: Jerold N. “Jed” Smyer in 2010; Son: Jerold Noel Smyer II in 2024.

Survived by her Daughter: Sonja K. (Robert) Minor, Sons: Timothy S. (Denise) Smyer, Gary D. (Becky) Smyer; Daughter-in-law: Lana Smyer; Brother & Sister-in-law: Ernst & Inge Krämer. Grandchildren: Andy and Cory Kouts, Jared, Jonathan, Michael and Nicholas Smyer; Great Grandchildren: Katie, Kaleb, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Shelby, and Jack.

There will be no public services. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg.
