George I. Prater

George I. Prater, 46 of Lewisburg, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Kettering Health – Preble in Eaton. Born on July 28, 1979 in Dayton, Ohio. George served Harrison Township, Preble County, Ohio as the Road Supervisor and Cemetery Sexton. He was 1998 graduate of Tri-County North High School, raised and showed sheep at the Preble County Fair, enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved to tinker with many things. He was a "Jack of all trades, master of none".

Preceded in death by his Grandparents: George H. and Elizabeth "Bizzie" (Griffitts) Prater Oney, Grover Oney; John E. and Nancy E. (Fairfield) Skiles.

He is survived by his Daughter and Son-in-law: Madeline I. “Mady” (Brandon) Monebrake; Step Grandson: J.R. Monebrake; Partner Jana; Special people in his life: Bobby and Dennis Friend.

Additional family: Father and Mother: Ric and Felicia (Skiles) Prater; Siblings: Gretchen (Josh) Meyers and Travis Prater; Nephew: Jordan Meyers; Cindy Torrance.

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Ohio. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 in Roselawn Cemetery with Pastor Roger Stine officiating.
