George J. Bouley, 89 of New Paris, Ohio died Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Maple Gardens in Eaton, Ohio. George was born on April 24, 1936, in Somerset, Massachusetts, the son of the late Joseph G. & Edith (Nelson) Bouley. He was a graduate of Somerset High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960. In 1998 he retired from Belden Wire and Cable in Richmond, Indiana after 30 years of service. He was a Life member & Past Commander of the Amvets Post #726 of Eldorado, Ohio and member and past Commander and finance officer of the American Legion Post 360 of New Paris, OH.
Preceded in death by his wife of 34 years Doris V. Bouley in 2015 and stepdaughter Debra Lee Martin in May 2014; Sisters: Margaret Foley and Rita Smith; brother: James Bouley.
Survived by his daughters: Carol Atkins and Linda Bouley both of Texas Darlene Tiemann of Indianapolis, IN; Stepdaughter: Peggy Sue Shroyer of New Paris, OH; stepson: John W. Shroyer, Jr. of Champlin, MN; Sisters: Edith Allen of Bristol, RI and Jean McGrady of Somerset, MA. 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Special Friend: James “Red” Myers and his American Legion Family.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Spring Lawn Cemetery – New Paris, OH with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard & the U.S. Marine Corps.
