Gayle L. Turner

GAYLE L. TURNER, 66, Greenville, OH died Thursday, January 4th following a brief illness. He was born February 4, 1940 in West Manchester, OH to John & Edna (Shumaker) Turner. He was a 1957 graduate of Monroe High School and a graduate of “The” Ohio State University. On August 20, 1960 he married Linda Ketring, who survives him. Gayle retired in 1994 after 33 years at Rockwell/Boeing, where he was manager of contracts and pricing. During these years, he developed a great love of music, gardening, baseball, and the Schipperke. With no formal music lessons he learned to play “by ear” the clarinet, piano, and organ, which he continued to play nearly every day. For years he was a member of the Rockwell softball team, where he made many life-long friends. He was also a member of the Worthington, OH, Masonic Lodge and the First United Methodist Church, Greenville, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Gayle E. Ketring.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Christine & Michael Gardner, Brighton, MI & Janelle & Randy King, Granville, OH; 2 grandsons, Ryan & Jarrett King; Sister, Sue Eyer, Eldorado, OH; Brother: Steve (Nancy) Turner, Dana Point, CA; Mother-in-law, Artis Ketring, Greenville, OH; Nieces & Nephews; many life-long friends.

Funeral Service for Gayle L. Turner will be Monday, January 8, 2007 - 10:00 A.M. at the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 N. Main St., Eldorado, OH 45321 with Pastor Joe Payne officiating. Burial will be in Twin Chapel Cemetery, West Manchester, OH. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
