Elaine R. Hawley

Elaine R. Hawley, age 86 of Eaton, Ohio died Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton. Born on October 30, 1938, in Preble County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John & Edith (Chamberlain) Tucker. Elaine was a 1956 Eaton High School graduate, 1960 graduate of Ohio State University, and received her master’s from Wright State University. She was an Eaton City School Teacher for 35 years.

Member of the Preble County Teachers Association, The Book Club and the First Presbyterian Church in Eaton, Ohio.

Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years: Bruce R. Hawley in 2010, brother: Edward Tucker in 2020, sister-in-law: Cheryl Asher and friends: Sandra Gamboa and Ruthanne Christman.

Survivors include her children: Kimberly Sue & Tom Johnson, Robert B. Hawley & Diane Woods, Christina L. & Tracy Mobley. Grandchildren: Adriane & Shawn Guinn, Nicholas "Nick" Hawley & Carlee Cullers, Brittany Hawley, Amber & Derek Smith, Allison Johnson, Tracy "J.R." Mobley, Jayce Hawley, Aaron & Jessica Johnson and Olivia Hawley; 28 great grandchildren and Brother-in-law: Edward (Kim) Hawley, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320. The funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Ben Meyers officiating. Interment will be in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio.
