Donald W. Stokes

Donald W. Stokes, 78, of New Paris, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at his residence. Born on October 16, 1946 in Bridgeport, Illinois, son of the late Mack B. and Ruby M. (Morris) Stokes.

Don attended Jefferson Township High School in New Paris and was a U.S. Army veteran during Vietnam. He retired from I.R.C. & D. Motor Freight, Inc. after many years of service. Don was a member of the New Paris Village Council, served as a Maintenance and Zoning Inspector for the village, was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 360 of New Paris, member of the Amvets Post 726 of Eldorado, Ohio, member of the Masonic Lodge Post 106 of New Paris and member of Indianapolis Shriners.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Mac Stokes, Robert Stokes, Evelyn Stoltz, Jerry Stokes, Shirley Cooper, Ronald Stokes and Mary Lou York; daughter-in-law, Debbie Stokes and granddaughter, Kiersten Stokes.

Survivors include his Wife of 60 years: Patricia Ann (Henn) Stokes; Son: Brett Stokes; Daughter: Stacey Stokes; Sister: Lynda (Steve) Moore; grandchildren, Tecy (Steven) Kramer, Lacy (Chris) Buteau, Joshua (Geralyn) Gray, Skyler (James) Cottingim, Brandon (Taylor Hendricks) Stokes and 7 great grandchildren.
