Debra Sue Williams

Debra Sue Williams, 69 of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, at her residence. Born on December 21, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Ella Catharine (Shaeffer) Battista.

Debra was a graduate of National Trail High School and was a retired bookkeeper. She worked for Irmar Trucking in Richmond and did bookkeeping for the Help the Animals Shelter and Gateway Church Food Pantry. She was a long-time member of the Gateway Church of Richmond.

Debra had a generous heart and a deep desire to help others. She volunteered her time helping people in need and cared deeply for animals. She fostered many dogs and cats in need of a home and more than a few found their forever home with her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Larry Battista, Sr. in 2007 and her nephew: Jerry Battista in 1977.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Lawrence E. Williams; her son: Paul L. “Louis” Green; her daughter, Desiree Williams; sisters, Diana and Vicki Battista; sister-in-law, Vivian Battista; grandson, Jakab Storm Martin-Green; granddaughter, Mackenzie Williams and great grandchildren, Alessia, Janice and Kenneth Martin and Rowan Martin-Green; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home- New Paris.
