Chitsuko "Chee" Youhouse

Chitsuko “Chee” (Mori) Youhouse, age 94 of Lewisburg, Ohio died peacefully at Brookdale Englewood Senior Living in Englewood, Ohio on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Born on November 30, 1931 in Japan, she was the daughter of the late Yoneo & Wichi (Azuma) Mori. Chee married George “Joe” Youhouse on March 9, 1966 in Kobe, Japan. In 1970, she completed the Second Term of the Advanced Course at The Ohara School of Ikebana flower arranging. She came to the United States of America in September of 1974 and became a naturalized citizen on May 31, 1986. She was baptized and became of member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church on March 29, 1992.

Chee had worked as a prep cook at three restaurants, including 14 years at Country Cooker, followed by Country Café and Midway Restaurant. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed working their vegetable garden and canning. She was also an active member of the Harrison Township Homemakers of Lewisburg, Ohio. Along with Joe, Chee was active in the Lewisburg Lions Club.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Englewood Senior Living and Day City Hospice for all the love and care they provided during her stay.

Preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, George “Joe” Youhouse in 2003.

Survived by her nephew & niece, Everett & Diane Trittschuh III of Lewisburg, Ohio and their children, Michael & Ashley West, Jr., and their children, Lydia and Jackson; niece & nephew, Jolene & Leonard Kmett of Hollsopple, Pennsylvania, and their children, Adam Kmett and Eric Kmett.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 P.M, Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, 3147 US Route 40 E, Lewisburg, Ohio 45338 with Pastor David Brisker officiating. Family will receive guests from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
