Betty I. Yanda

Betty I. Yanda age 99 of Sidney, Ohio and formerly of Eaton, Ohio died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love Nursing Retirement Community. Born on June 8, 1924, in Pittsburgh, PA., she was the daughter of the late Frank & Mary J. (Smith) Kindler. Betty was a 1942 graduate of Wilkinsburg Pennsylvania High School and a 1947 graduate of the Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA and had been a Registered Nurse for many years in the Pittsburgh, PA area. She served as Secretary for the First Presbyterian Church in Eaton, Ohio for eight years and was a current member of the United Church of Christ in Sidney, OH. She was very talented and did a lot of crafting things, quilting, cross stitch, painting, greeting cards and winning some awards.

Preceded in death by her husband of 46 years: Howard W. Yanda in 2014. Brother: Dr. Frank E. Kindler in 2009.

Survived by Daughter: Susan E. Yanda, Cleveland, OH; and Niece: Edie (Timothy) Baldwin of New Providence, PA., Nephew: Keith (Wendy) Yanda of Pittsburg, PA.; and Great niece: Michelle (Daniel) Yanda, of San Jose, California.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Monday August 28, 2023, at the Amos Chapel – Ohio Living Dorothy Love Nursing Center – 3003 West Cisco Road Sidney, Ohio. A celebration of Life service for Betty will be 2:00 PM at the chapel with Pastor Jim Oates officiating. Interment will be in Preble Memory Gardens – West Alexandria, Ohio.
