Betty J. Compton

Betty J. Compton age 87, of Eaton, Ohio died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Greenbrier Care Community in Eaton, Ohio. Betty was born on August 10, 1938, in West Liberty, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James O. & Myrtle Lou (Gibson) Watkins. She has lived in Preble County for most of her life.

Preceded in death by Husband of 63 years: Charles E. “Red” Compton in 2016; Daughter: Lisa R. Strong in 2026; Sons: Merle Compton in 2021; Darrell E. Compton in 2025 and Keith O. Compton in 2015; Brothers: Carl Peck and Elmer Watkins; Sisters: Peggy Smith and Opal L. Compton.

Survivors include her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Private graveside service will be held in Butler County Memorial Gardens.
