Barbara Jane Orr

Barbara Jane (O’Leary) Orr, of Eaton, Ohio went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 27, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 18, 1946, in Richmond, Indiana, daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Nina Elizabeth (Lybrook) O’Leary.

Barb was a lifelong resident of Dixon Township in Preble County and was a 1964 graduate of Dixon-Israel High School. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and later attended Wright State University, receiving her Master of Education Degree. Barb taught for three years for Liberty Schools in Liberty, Indiana and then taught for the Eaton Community Schools until her retirement. Barb’s devotion to her family was her greatest joy. When her children were small, she stayed home to raise them and volunteer her time to their school endeavors and was especially active with the Eaton Band Parents. She was a devoted member of Concord Church in Dixon Township where she served as a Deaconess, Organist, Pianist, Assistant Treasurer, Sunday School and Bible School teacher and member of the choir. She served as the secretary of the Eaton Foundation for many years and was very active with the Preble County Pork Festival and was a past member of the Preble County College and Lyric Clubs. Always one to have a kind smile for everyone she met, Barb truly loved sharing her time with not only her family, but her dear friends and church family whether it was preparing a meal for a group, playing cards, travelling with close friends, or enjoying a meal with the Dixon group.

Survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald Orr whom she married on July 27, 1968; her children, Steven (Dawn) Orr and Linda (Craig) Farrell; brother, Tom O’Leary; sister-in-law: Darlene (Charles) Semler; grandchildren, Brooke (Cody) Berry, Brittnie (Josh) Campbell, Bailey (Andrew) George, Kaitlin (Parker) Wilken, Alyssa (Seth) Stewart, Adam Farrell and Lauren Farrell; five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Concord Church 2225 Concord Fairhaven Rd, Eaton, OH 45320 with Rev. Dr. James Ernst officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
