William V. Yorke, Jr.

William V. Yorke, Jr., 88, of Harrison, Ohio, formerly of New Paris, Ohio, died Sunday, January 1, 2023 at his residence in Harrison. Born on December 22, 1934 in Bartley, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William V. & Millicent (Bates) Yorke, Sr. Mr. Yorke was a machinist and had worked at Richmond Gear Works and Twinsburg Gear where he retired in 1996. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a 50 year Master Mason of Fellowship Lodge #106 in New Paris.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Wife: Margaret Ann Yorke in 2017; Brothers: Fred, James, and Donald “Joe” Yorke; Sisters: Norma Dorsey, Audrey Higgins, and Patricia Yercheck.

Survived by his Children: William V. “Bill” Yorke, Anna Marie Thayer, and Erik Christian (Andrea) Yorke; Brother: John Yorke; Sisters: Anita Thacker and Karen Jordan; 3 grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Masonic Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio followed by a funeral service with David Messer officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Family and friends are invited for a time of food and fellowship, at the New Paris Masonic Fellowship Lodge #106, 116 S. Washington St., New Paris following the graveside service.
