William D. "Bill" Smith

William D. “Bill” Smith 60 of West Manchester, Ohio died Monday, November 29, 2021, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton, OH. Born on February 17, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio he was the son of the late Rufus D. & Mary Rita (Monnette) Smith. William was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during Desert Storm. He had worked at Truckstop’s of America for over 33 years, attended the Open Bible Church in Ithaca and member of the West Manchester Fire Department for over 27 years.

Preceded in death by his sisters: Edna Marie “Smitty” Ebersole in 2011 and Harriet L. Smith in 2017. Survived by sisters & brother-in-law: Helen & Melvin Brewer of West Milton, Ohio, and Beth Roberts of South Carolina. numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 5:00 PM at the funeral home with military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard and Pastor David Fox officiating.
