Virginia Mae Compston

Virginia Mae Compston, 85, passed away on December 11, 2011, at Heartland of Eaton. She had been in failing health for the past six months. She was born in Jackson, Ohio, on October 26, 1926, daughter of the late Jacob T. and Daisy Mercer Coffman. She was a graduate of Jackson High School, a former sales associate for Ben Franklin Store, an avid reader, and an active member Of the Eaton Senior Citizens Association. Before moving to Eaton, she was a resident of Upper Sandusky for 31 years and later lived in Wellston. She attended the Church of Christ, and she attended the Trinity United Methodist Church while living in Wellston.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. "Bill" Compston in 2000, and by a brother, Jacob Coffman.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Gary Howard of Eaton, Ohio; A son, Dennis Compston, of Delaware, Ohio; Five grandchildren: Ben Compston, Kayla Compston-Gibson, Mariah Howard, Brock Howard, and Cole Howard. Also three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services at 2:30 P.M. Services will be officiated by Gary M. Howard, and the final place of rest will be Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests memorials can be made in Virginia's memory to the American Heart Association or the Central Ohio Diabetes Association.
