Vannon E. Robbins, Sr.

VANNON E. "BOB" ROBBINS, Sr., 77 of Arcanum, OH, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Dayton, OH. Born on August 11, 1931 in Dehart, KY, son of the late James E. & Anna M. (Cassity) Robbins. After 34 years of service, he retired from Delco Products in Kettering, in 1988. A Kentucky Colonel and member of the VFW Post 4161, Eagle Lodge, and American Legion. Bob was an avid bluegrass musician and fan. He loved to hunt & fish and spent his life surrounded by family and friends. He always had a story to tell, a joke on his lip, and a song in his heart. Preceded in death by his Brother: Clyde C. Robbins; Half Brothers: Carlie, Virgil and Jimmy Ratliff.

Survived by his wife of 57 years: Bonita Gay (Fannin) Robbins; Children: Bonnie (Steve) Scott, Lewisburg, OH, Debbie (Bob) Brill, Petoskey, MI, Connie Aikman, Lewisburg, OH, Bert (Jack) Getter, Lewisburg, OH, Sylvia (Mike) Landis, Brookville, OH, Bev (Jim) Hargis, Lewisburg, OH, Bud (Robin) Robbins, West Alexandria, OH, Randy (Bev) Robbins, Brookville, OH, Jeff (Tracy) Robbins, Troy, OH; Brothers & Sister-in-law: Donald R. Robbins, Lewisburg, OH, Norman O. (Genieve) Robbins, Springfield, OH; Sister: Ailene Kilgore, Greenfield, OH; 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, OH with Pastor Douglas Jones officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
