Thomas A. Patrick

Thomas A. Patrick, age 83, of New Paris, OH, died on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Vancrest Nursing Home in Eaton, Ohio. Tom was born on November 24, 1935 in Preble County, Ohio the son of the late Chester A. & Gladys E. (Kessler) Patrick. 

Tom was a 1953 Jefferson High School graduate and was a National Trail School bus driver for over 20 years. In 1960 he became the co-owner with his brother of the Mobil Oil filling station in New Paris. They sold the station in 1982. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing in Canada, flying airplanes solo, art painting and writing stories about the community involvement with his gas station for the New Paris News. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.  

Preceded in death by his brother: James A. Patrick in 2008. 

Survived by his wife of 62 years: Lois E. (Laird) Patrick; sons & daughter-in-law: Roger D. & Wendy S. Patrick of Eaton, OH; Todd A. Patrick of Florida; Daughter & son-in-law: Shelley L. & David R. Schlosser of Texas;4 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. 

Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main Street, New Paris, OH. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating.
