Thelma Floyd

THELMA FLOYD, age 91, formerly of Eaton, Ohio, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at the home of her granddaughter Joni (Barton) Scharff & her husband Jeff Scharff in Vandalia, Ohio where she had resided for the past eight years. Born on August 28, 1913 in Camden, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John C. & Alice L. (Seals) O’Dell. She had worked as a cook at several local restaurants including Hines Truck Stop and Stop 127 in Preble County. She had also worked at the Siesta Motel of Eaton, Ohio. Preceded in death by her husband: Charles W. Floyd on September 7, 1969; son: Delmar K. “Sonny” Floyd on February 27, 1989; daughters: Patricia L. “Pat” Barton on September 11, 1996 and Doris Jean Wilmot on July 10, 1998; brothers: Ray, Walter and Harry O’Dell; sisters: Bertha Bottomley, Dorothy Armstrong and Lulie O’Dell.

Survived by eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Son-in-law: Richard “Dick” Barton of Vandalia, Ohio. Daughter-in-law: Isabelle Floyd of Eaton, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2004 - 12:00 pm at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE FUNERAL SERVICE ON SATURDAY at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio.
