Shirley J. (Poppaw) Gephart age 87, of Sycamore Glen Assisted Living Center in Miamisburg, OH and formerly of Lewisburg, OH died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg, OH. Born on September 14, 1927 in Oregon, IL she was the daughter of the late Henry H. & Elizabeth P. (Kuhn) Smith. Shirley was a graduate of Oregon High School and a graduate of Dayton School of Practical Nursing and received her LPN. She retired in 1995 from Grandview Hospital in Dayton after 21 years of service and had attended the Salem Ellerton Lutheran Church in Dayton. She was preceded in death by stepdaughter: Cherie L. Staggs in 1997; brother: Robert Smith in 2007

Survived by husband: Richard L. Gephart; sons: James A. (Diana) Poppaw of Kettering, OH; William W. (Pamela) Poppaw of Arcanum, OH; daughter: Kathy S. (Les) Reel of Hilliard, OH; stepdaughter: Sandy J. (Chuck) Hoops of Brookville, OH; Vicki L. Crowe of Gratis, OH and Becky J. Ivey of Florida. 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; half-brother: John Orsted of Goshen, IN; good friend Nancy Henley of Eaton, OH; several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio with the funeral service to be held at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jarl Andeer. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg.
