Sharon Kay Stump

Sharon Kay (Shell) Stump, age 67, of Eaton, OH, died Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg, OH. Born on June 7, 1951 in Eaton, Preble Co., OH, daughter of the late, Howard Kenneth & Marie (Lunsford) Shell. Sharon was a lifelong resident of Preble County, Graduate of Eaton High School in 1969, Graduate of Sinclair College in Dayton, OH, Graduate of University of Dayton with Two Master’s Degrees in Education and Religious Studies. Member of Phi Theta Kappa and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Fraternities. Craft Vendor at Preble County Pork Festival and flea markets in Ohio and Indiana for 32 years, specializing in painting and jewelry art. Owner of the Pour House Ceramics in Downtown Eaton for 11 years. Sharon was a published Author of Short Stories, Poetry and Articles in local and national publications. She was also an activist for animal welfare, serving on the board of the Preble County Humane Society. 

Sharon was a Member of Visitation Catholic Church in Eaton, OH and was very active including, Director of Religious Education since 1992, member of St. Anne’s Sodality where she served several terms as President, Secretary and Annual Bazaar Chair, numerous Lay Ministries including Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Catechist, and Member of the Lay Third Order of Dominicans.  

Preceded in Death by her Parents, Howard K. & Marie (Lunsford) Shell; Brothers, Donald Lewis and Ronald Lewis; Sisters, Louise (Lewis) Goad and Ruth (Lewis) Smith; Mentor, Colonel Donald Reeves. 

Survived by Husband of 40 years, Everett Stump; Son, Dean (Desiree) Lewis; Brother, Dean (Joan King) Lewis, Sr.; Grandsons, DeJohn and Jalen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rosary Service to follow at 7:00 PM.  

Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Father Charles Caserta officiating.
