Ruth Van Winkle

RUTH VAN WINKLE, 85, of Eaton, Ohio, died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Heartland of Eaton. She was born on September 5, 1923 in Hamilton, Ohio, daughter of the late Truman & Johanna (Schultheiss) Apgar. She was a hostess for many local restaurants and was a member of the Concord United Church of Christ in Dixon Township and the Preble County Senior Citizens. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth and Richard Apgar; daughter-in-law, Janie Van Winkle.

She is survived by her son, James Van Winkle of Eaton; daughters, Casandra (Ernie) Rikas of Hamilton, Ohio and Charlene (Kevin) Via of Camden, Ohio; sisters, Marion Allen of Hamilton and Doris (Bob) Gary of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Shaun and Amber Williams, Todd, Christopher and Alisha Rikas and Jimmie Van Winkle; step grandchildren, Robin Eck and Lori Page; four great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, July 6, 2009 at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio with Rev. John Swint officiating.
