Ruth Mary Sauerland

Ruth Mary (Smith) Sauerland, age 87, of Brookville, Ohio died Saturday, September 5, 2015. Born on November 24, 1927 in Harrison, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Emmett & Hazel (Otto) Smith. Ruth had worked at State Line Truck Stop, Dairy Queen in New Paris and was a school bus driver for Jefferson High School prior to her retirement.

Preceded in death by granddaughter, Annette Marie Albert; sisters, Betty (Bill) Moody and Jean Jones; brother-in-laws: Ernie Bischoff and Harold Sauerland; sister-in-law: Evelyn Sauerland.

Survived by husband of 71 years, Russell W. Sauerland; daughter, Caroline Albert; grandchildren, Roberta (Chris) Albert, Kristina (Paul) Jurgens, Janene McNew and Jamie Albert; sister, Phyllis Bischoff; great grandchildren, Jalana Golson, Kati Jurgens, Karis Jurgens, Christopher McNew, Robert McNew and Lucas Albert; great great grandson, Chase McNew; sister-in-law, Evelyn (Jim) Booker; brother-in-law, Richard Sauerland.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Scott Sliver officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday prior to the funeral at the funeral home in New Paris.
