Roseann Simons Williams age 68, of Brookville, and formerly of Eaton, Ohio passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on June 21, 1943 in Carlisle, KY she was the daughter of the late James B. & Margaret M. (Conway) Simons. Roseann was a 1961 graduate of Carlisle High School, earned her Bachelors Degree from University of Kentucky in 1969 and her Masters Degree in 1985 at Miami University. She started teaching in a two room school in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Other teaching positions were seventh grade science at New Carlisle Middle School, Ohio; fifth grade at Lewisburg Elementary; middle school Special Education at Lanier; high school Intervention at Twin Valley and retired in 2006 from high school Intervention at Twin Valley. She always said she loved every day of teaching for 33 years. She was a Preble County 4-H leader for twenty years, active in church youth education, cheerleader advisor, volleyball coach, Honor Society Advisor, Talented and Gifted Coordinator and former West Alexandria Kiwanis Member. She was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2005 and fought a brave battle. Her mother also died of Multiple Myeloma in 1975.
Survived by her loving and caring Husband of 47 years: Charles Kenneth Williams; Son: Gregory (Joan) Williams of Ft. Wayne, IN; Daughter: Jennifer (Dwayne) Rhoades of Lewisburg, OH; Son: Michael (Jeff Cook) Williams of New Albany, OH; Grandchildren that were dear to Roseann: Bradley and Rebecca Williams, Owen, Elaine, Sara and Claire Rhoades. They will miss her chocolate pies. Brother: Jim (Lynn) Simons, of Carlisle, Kentucky, niece Amy (Glen) Switzer, nephew Jamie (Kim) Simons and niece Mindy (Nicholas) Linville, all of Carlisle, Kentucky. Brother-in-law: Bob (Linda) Williams of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, sister-in-law: Regina Gano of Chesapeake, Ohio and mother-in-law Roberta Williams of Flatwoods, Kentucky.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Monday, August 1, 2011 at Visitation Catholic Church 407 East Main Street Eaton, Ohio with Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery at West Alexandria, OH. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with Rosary service 6:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home 220 East Main Street Eaton, OH.
