Roger A. Jeffers

Roger A. Jeffers age 77, of New Paris, Ohio, died Monday, January 21, 2019 at Reid Hospital and Healthcare Services in Richmond, Indiana. He was born on March 8, 1941 in Glencoe, Ohio, son of the late Joseph Ellsworth and Margaret Pauline (Brown) Jeffers. He was a retired teamster and truck driver having worked at Schneider Transportation and Dallas Mavis. Roger enjoyed going to turkey shoots, working on cars, watching Nascar races, riding dirt bikes and motorcycles and exploring in the woods to mushroom hunt. He loved hanging out with his friends at the New Paris Carryout for a cup of coffee and spending time with his beloved dog, “Buddy”.  

In addition to his parents Roger was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert “Bob”, Paul, Howard, David and Frank Jefffers. 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Darlene B. (Deckman) Jeffers; children, Cindy (Ed) Herrmann, Rhonda (Tim) Toschlog, and Roger Paul Jeffers; siblings, Richard E. “Jeff” Jeffers, Pauline Ross, Elaine McLaren, Jim (Linda) Jeffers and Marilyn Holland; grandchildren, Kevin (Shanley) Toschlog, Megan Toschlog and Ryan Herrmann; great grandson, Parker; sisters-in-law, Ruth, Shirley, Jackie and Marylin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The First Baptist Church, 6751 St. Rt. 320, New Paris, Ohio with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Whalen officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
