Robert L. Young, Sr.

ROBERT L. YOUNG, SR., 87, of Richmond, Indiana and formerly of New Paris, Ohio died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Golden Rule Living Center in Richmond. Robert was born on March 29, 1924 in New Paris, Ohio, son of the late Glen & Mary Edith (Comer) Young. Robert was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and was a carpenter with the Local Union in Richmond, Indiana. He was a member of the V.F.W. and a past member of the American Legion Post 65 both in Richmond. In addition to his parents Robert is preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Sparks and Jo Ann Cook.

Robert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Robert L. and Pam Young, Jr. of Nitro, West Virginia; granddaughter: Veronica Traupman and great grandson: Conran Traupman; sister: Doris (Miss Kitty) Alexander of Richmond; his companion of 13 years: Charlotte Ullery of Richmond; nieces: Sherri Shaffer, Terri Davis and Julia Smith and nephew, Steven Shaffer.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris with Chaplain Al Bledsoe officiating.
