Robert B. Niles

Robert B. Niles, 87, of Brookville, OH and formerly of Lewisburg, OH, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his residence. Born on December 14, 1923 in West Milton, OH he was the son of the late Frank & Ethel (Kessler) Niles. Bob severed in the U.S. Army Air Corp during W.W. II in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He had worked at Marble Cliff Stone and retired in 1986 from the Village of Lewisburg after 21 years of service as the Street and Sanitation Superintendent. After retiring from the Village of Lewisburg, he had worked for Pinkerton Security Services and Lewisburg Container. He was a member of the Public Employee Retirees of Ohio. Preceded in death by four Brothers: Ralph, Bill, Jack and Mickey.

Survived by his Wife of 58 years: Mabel I. (Kreitzer) Niles; Sons & Daughters-In-Law: Jeffery & Sandy Niles of Troy, OH and Rob & Lois Niles of Carlisle, OH. Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Kathy & Rick Marshall of Lewisburg, OH and Pat & Al "Bud" Chrisman of Huber Heights, OH. 15 Grandchildren: Tracy, Travis, Tonya, Teri, Tina, Jessica, Ricky, Justin, Jan, Desiree, Tiffany, Matthew, Shawna, Shannon and Scott. 25 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, OH with Rev. Matt Flora officiating. Interment will be held in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, OH with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Brookville Fire & Rescue, P.O.
