Robert A. Dungan

Robert A. Dungan, 73 of New Paris, Ohio died Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his residence. Born on December 29, 1945 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Edward P. & Agnes M. (Balof) Dungan. Bob was a 1963 Jefferson High School graduate and served with the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. For many years he was an Insurance Agent at Western & Southern and an Independent Insurance Agent. Bob was a Lay Speaker of the United Methodist Church and accepted the call to pastor the New Paris Presbyterian Church including many other churches in Preble, Darke and Mercer Counties. Life member of the American Legion in New Paris and V.F.W. in Eaton; New Paris Chamber of Commerce, Northwest Fire and EMS past member and life member of the Sertoma of Greenville. 

Survived by wife of 51 years: Barbara S. (Mills) Dungan; children: Robin E. & Andy Deems of Lewis Center, Ohio; Chris Dungan of New Paris, OH; sister: Patricia Newman of Springfield, OH; brother: Ralph E. Dungan of New Paris, OH; grandchildren: Travis & Larrin Sorrell, Ty & Leanna McGuire, Emily Dungan, Trenton Dungan, Tanner Dungan, Laura Deems and Peter Deems; 6 great Grandchildren. 

Family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Barnes Funeral Home 109 West Main Street New Paris, Ohio. Funeral service will be 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
