Paul E. Hans

Paul E. Hans, age 69, of Eaton, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 27, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on June 9, 1934 in Gasper Township Preble County, Ohio he was the son of the late Fritz & Edna Mae (Huffman) Hans. Paul was a 1952 Eaton High School graduate and has lived most of his life in Preble County. He was a Gasper Township farmer and during the 1960's he worked for the Kroger Company. He served on the Preble County Fair Board for 10 years and was an elected Gasper Township Trustee for 10 years. He had served as an A.S.C. committeeman; Production Credit and Producers Livestock Boards; Member of Preble County Farm Bureau Council #28 for almost 50 years and attended Eaton Church of the Brethren. Preceded in death by a Brother: Carl E. Hans in 1936 and a Sister: Martha J. Tapalman in 1991.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Esther L. (Engle) Hans. Sons & Daughters-In-Law: Lynn P. & Mildred E. Hans and Michael G. & Terri L. Hans both of Eaton, Ohio. Daughters & Son-In-Law: Beth E. & Bruce Fornshell of Eaton, Ohio and Kathy & Chris Kitchel of Germantown, Ohio; Sisters: Amy (Stanley) Call of Camden, Ohio, Lois (Bill) McDowell of Fortville, Indiana and Ruth Mary Parks of West Manchester, Ohio. Grandchildren Jeff & Stacee Hans of Terre Haute, Ind., Nathan, Kristen, Megan, and Andrew Hans all of Eaton, Ohio, Benjamin & Brandi Fornshell of Eaton, Ohio, Jessica & Kelsey Kitchel of Germantown, Ohio. Aunt Margaret Huffman of Eaton, Ohio; Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Eaton Church of The Brethren - 1407 North Barron Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Martin L. Peacock officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, March 1, 2004 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio and one hour prior to the service at the church.
