Oleta Pearl Johnson

Oleta Pearl VanCleave Johnson was born on June twenty-first of 1931 to Rollie and Olive (Stamper) VanCleave. She married Pricie Johnson jr. in 1948 and loved and cared for him for 51 years. They had two sons, Pricie Edward Johnson (Joyce) who preceded his mother in death in 2011, and Alva Johnson ( Beth), Michigan.

Oleta lived a life defined by giving; giving of her time, her care, and her love. She died on November 21st, 2014.

Her caring spirit lives on in those who survive her: daughter-in-law Joyce (Ark) Johnson; son, Alva (Beth) Johnson; brother, Tony (Sandy) VanCleave; grandchildren, Chris (Christy) Johnson, Luke (Mollie) Johnson, Tim Johnson, and Abby (Jon) Helsinger; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Merrick, Claire, Audrey, and Beau; and step great-grandchildren Jimmy, Shelby, and Luke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including one very special niece, Redina (Jim) Crolley.

Oleta attended the United Methodist Church in Camden where she considered the congregation friends and family. She also had a special relationship with the Ark family of Camden.

Oleta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Edward, and siblings Herschel (Ella), Arnita (Russell Griffen), Bedina (Benny Margerum), Betty (Hobert Deaton), Russell (Princess) and Nannie Deaton.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 26th at 4:00 pm at the Camden United Methodist Church.
