Norma Jean Maxel

Norma J. Maxel, age 90, of Richmond, IN and formerly of Eaton, OH died Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Reid Health in Richmond. Born on November 10, 1926 in Miami County, OH, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Imo (Anderson) Brown. She was a bookkeeper from 1952 to 1990’s for ABC Awning in Eaton and was a member of the Eaton United Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her Husband of 51 years: Ervin C. “Bud” Maxel in 1993; Children: James A. Maxel in 1999, Larry L. Maxel in 1944 and Diane K. Maxel in 1947. Sisters: Mary Petry in 1994, Helen Yount in 1991 and Naomi Ross in 2005; Brother: Robert Brown in 1997.

Survived by Grandchildren: Troy S. (Jessica) Maxel, Todd S. Maxel and Sheri Lynn (Rodney) Reynolds; Brother: Farron Brown. 9 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchild.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Steve Whalen officiating. Interment will be held in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Twin Twp., Preble County, OH. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
