Norma J. Priest

Norma J. Priest, age 79 formerly of New Paris, Ohio died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Golden Rule Nursing Home in Richmond, Indiana. Born on May 26, 1928 in Portland, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Herschel L. & Ruth (Fraser) Rathbun. She was a 1946 Portland High School graduate. She was a 1950 Ball State graduate with a Bacholer’s degree in Elementary Education. She retired in 1984 from C. R. Coblentz School after 30 years as a second and third grade teacher. Member of the Preble County Retired Teachers Association. Member of the Book Club in New Paris, Ohio. Member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond, Indiana. Attended a Bible Study Group in New Paris, Ohio. Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years: James D. Priest in 2004.

Survivors include daughters & sons-in-law: Diana K. & Steven Gray of Centerville, Indiana, Cynthia E. & Ralph West of Richmond, Indiana, and Teresa J. & Thomas Runyon of Rock Hill, South Carolina; brothers & sister-in-law: Max Rathbun of Portland, Indiana and David & Raeburn Rathbun of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren: Dana M. & Kevin D. Baker, Lisa R. O’Neil, Ashley E. & David Van Wagoner, Allen J. Runyon, and Andrew A. West; great grandchildren: Kaleb L. Baker, Kyler J. Baker, Alexis A. O’Neil, and Maddix Myers. Numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
