Mildred E. Stover

MILDRED E. STOVER, age 98, of Eaton, Ohio, died Friday, December 28, 2007 at Heartland of Eaton. She was born on November 18, 1909 in Castine (Darke County), Ohio the daughter of John Jacob and Lydia (Wertz) Snyder. She retired from the Preble County Sheriff’s office in 1972 where she had been Matron of the jail for 22 years. She was a member of the Republican National Committee, the Seniors Coalition, the United Senior’s Association and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John J. Stover, Sr. in 1996; two brothers and seven sisters; grandchildren, Kevin L. Mowen in 1957, John Alvin Stover in 1959, Matthew L., Mark L. & Luke L. Davis in 1963 and James R. Stover in 2004 and son-in-law, Marvin Mowen in 2002.

She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, James C. & Betty Stover and John J.& Janet Stover, Jr. both of Eaton; her daughters & son-in-law, Grace & Tyler Davis of West Alexandria, Ohio and Bonnie J. Mowen of Eaton; thirteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
