Meri Lee (Eichhorn) Hampton

Meri Lee (Eichhorn) Hampton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on May 5, 2023, in Frisco, Texas at the age of 78. She was born to Howard (Bud) Woodruff and Doris Irene (Higgs) Eichhorn on August 15, 1944, in Abington, Pennsylvania.

Meri Lee graduated as the salutatorian from Jefferson High School in New Paris, Ohio in 1962. She graduated from Methodist Hospital of Indiana School of Nursing in Indianapolis in 1966. She married Dennis Dean Hampton, of Richmond, Indiana, on August 27, 1965 in Centerville, Indiana. Meri Lee worked 44 years as an orthopedic nurse. She spent 24 of those years working for the wonderful Dr. Michael Katz in Dallas, Texas until her retirement in June 2010. Meri Lee enjoyed cooking the family recipes, loved to read books, working crossword puzzles, watching cooking and home improvement shows on TV and spending time outside gardening.

Meri Lee is survived by her son, Greg Hampton, wife Jennifer, grandchildren Hunter and Haylee of Frisco, Texas; son Brad Hampton, wife Jennifer, grandchildren Greyson and Ellison of McKinney, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Doris Eichhorn and Dennis Hampton.

A Visitation for family and friends is planned for Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Graveside Funeral Service will follow the visitation at the Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
