Marissa Velta Huddleston

Marissa Velta Huddleston, 82 of Richmond, IN, while surrounded by her loving family, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2020 in Cincinnati, OH. Born on July 12, 1937 in Sinole, Latvia, she was the daughter of the late Edgar & Minna Marija (Silins) Brutans. She was very proud of her Latvian heritage and fluent in her native language.  She continued to correspond with her cousin, Maija Silina from Riga, Latvia.  She and her husband Clay started the Midwest Jamboree in New Paris in 1984 and entertained many people for 25 years. She attended the Fountain City Wesleyan Church (LifeSpring Church). 

Preceded in death by her Husband: E. Clay Huddleston in 2016; Brothers: Janis & Valdis Brutans. 

She leaves to cherish her memory:  sons, Rich Dean (Kim) Smith; Mike (Kelly) Smith; daughters, Lisa (Tim) Orrill and Myreta (Billy) Killen.   

Grandchildren: Justin (Jessica) Waggoner; Randall (Emily) Long; Danielle (Ryan) Burtch; Michael (Andrea) Smith; Adam (Allison) Smith; Ryan (Brandi) Orrill; Courtney (Tyson) Senger; Payton (Eli) Killen; Seth (Courtney) Killen and Ty Killen.  

Great Grandchildren: Lexi Waggoner; Ella Orrill; Landon, Conner, Raegan Burtch; and Kenzie Smith.  Many nieces and nephews. 

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Amber Hurd, her friend and loving caregiver. 

Private Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Arrangements Entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, New Paris, OH. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family via the website at www.barnesfuneralhome.com
