Leon Bailey

PASTOR LEON BAILEY, age 71, of Eaton, Ohio died Thursday, April 7, 2005 at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Born on July 12, 1933 in Riley, Butler County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Elbert & Clista (Isaacs) Bailey. He was a 1952 Camden High School graduate and a 1979 Dayton Bible College graduate. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. Member of the VFW in Eaton, DAV and the NRA; member of the First Baptist Church in West Alexandria, OH; First Baptist Church in West Elkton and North Baptist Church in Hamilton. Preceded in death by Brothers: Charles, Kenneth, Ted and Elbert Jr. Bailey. Sister: Kathleen Bailey.

Survived by wife of 48 years: Joyce A. (Sheard) Bailey; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Keith D. & Nancy A. Bailey, Ft. White, FL, Noel L. & Peggy S. Bailey, West Alexandria, OH; Daughter & Son-in-law: Connie A. & Tom Fox, Bath, MI; Mother-in-law: Joyce K. Sheard, Eaton, OH; Brothers: Keith Bailey of Alabama, Elwood & Phillip Bailey, both of South Carolina; Sisters: Jamie Thompson of Pennsylvania, Thelma Johnson, Camden, OH, Janet Weise, Dayton, OH. 6 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 - 11:00 a.m. (Ohio Time) at the Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Wayne Boyer and Pastor Jerry K. Carter officiating. Interment and military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard will be held in the Dayton National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 from 10 - 11:00 a.m. (Ohio Time) at the funeral home.
